More Michigan metal?!
Forming in 2002, Red I Flight has faced many challenges. The band got their name from the song "Red Eye Flight" by Candiria. The "Eye" was changed to "I" to represent togetherness. Afterall, the band was formed around three brothers: vocalists John and Josh and drummer Jesse Robinson. The band independently released a five song demo in 2004 called "Many are the dead who have prayed for this moment". Two years of countless shows would follow the release and in 2006 the band opened up for The Taste of Chaos Tour at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Red I Flight has shared the stage with bands such as: The Acacia Strain, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu, Between the Buried and Me, and many many more. Vocalist John Robinson tossed in the towel after dedicating nearly six years of his life to the band. He respectfully moved on and decided to take his career as a tattoo artist more serious. Red I Flight always had two vocalists. There was talk of possibly finding someone to fill the position but after a couple of months the band pushed forward with Josh as it's lone vocalist. Lucky for the band this worked out and Victory records asked the band to showcase a second time, after seeing them live at Dirtfest, 2007. Victory did not pass on Red I Flight the second time. "The Years" was recorded and was released in March of 2008. Red I Flight now with a full length under their belt, continues to tour and make fans all over the country.
